Alphamine is a popular powdered thermogenic by PEScience, a company that prides itself on their use of science backed nutritional research.
What Is Alphamine?
Before we get into it, what is Alphamine?
Alphamine is a thermogenic, more commonly referred to as a fat burner. It’s been developed to help increase energy and focus while aiding in fat-loss.
A thermogenic, as the name suggests, is designed to assist in accelerating your body’s metabolic functions through the production of heat as a stimulant. Caffeine is almost always the primary ingredient in thermogenic supplements that aid in accomplishing this.
Due to the caffeine content in thermogenics, some people do choose to use them prior to a workout in place of the traditional pre-workout.
PEScience Alphamine Nutritional Information & Ingredients
Like Oxyshred, one of the most popular thermogenics, Alphamine is made up of a proprietary blend. This means that each of the ingredients are listed on the label, but full dosages of each are not displayed.
Here’s a look at what it contains:
- Caffeine Anhydrous
- L-Leucine
- L-Carnitine
- L-Tartrate
- Choline Bitartrate
- L-Theanine
- Ferula Asafoetida (seed) Extract (95% Ferulic Acid)
- Citric Acid
- Natural & Artificial Flavours
- Silicon Dioxide
- Sucralose
- Acesulfame Potassium
- Beet Juice Concentrate
My Experience
I’ve used a handful of thermogenics over the years which has included the crowd favourites, Oxyshred by EHP and Deficit from Faction Labs. Both of those tend to make me feel quite ill in the stomach when consuming them without food whereas I don’t have that same problem with Alphamine.
It’s also brilliant for providing a good boost of energy without making you all jittery. Granted, Alphamine isn’t a pre-workout, so naturally this should be the case anyway. But, it’s good to mention considering how many people do choose to use thermogenics as pre-workouts to avoid the higher caffeine content and range of stimulants in many pre-workouts.
On that note, Alphamine contains just 125 mg of caffeine, compared to the 150 mg often found in comparable products. This makes it a better option for anyone who might be a little more sensitive to caffeine.
It’s also worth mentioning that Alphamine can be stacked with High Volume by PEScience. They aptly call this the ThermoPump stack.
High Volume is a stimulant free pump formula. When paired with Alphamine, High Volume helps to provide the pump, power and performance while Alphamine gives you the energy.
In terms of flavour, I personally enjoy stacking Tropical Twist Alphamine with Blue Frost High Volume.
Available Flavours
At the time of writing this review, Alphamine is available in 4 main flavours. These are also the same 4 flavours that their pre-workout, Prolific, comes in.
This includes:
- Raspberry Lemonade
- Melon Berry Twist
- Sour Green Apple
- Tropical Twist
It has also been released in a cotton candy and mango flavour. The second of which was an exclusive flavour launched in Australia.
Both raspberry lemonade and tropical twist are the 2 highlights in my opinion. The 2 others were a little lacklustre, but then again I’m not usually a fan of sour or melon based flavours.
I do generally use a little more water than recommended when having the tropical twist as I find that it doesn’t mix quite well and can often have a powdery texture. Though it doesn’t take away from the amazing taste at all.
Alphamine Price & Package Size
Alphamine is available in both a 60 serve container and an 84 container, though you’re more likely to find it in the 60 serve size.
As there are limited retailers within Australia who stock Alphamine, you can often see the prices vary between $59.99 and $89.99 depending on the container size. Either way, you’re looking at less than $1 per serve.
